1) Chain Lakes Loop Trail – Mount Baker National Forest
This trail is a true gem and exemplifies what Washington hikes have to offer. Whether passing through wildflower filled meadows in the spring or admiring the changing foliage in the fall, this hike is truly gorgeous. In addition to the flora, amazing views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan add to the wonder of this trail. This somewhat difficult hike is around 8 miles and gains over 1500 feet of elevation, so be prepared for a workout. At the apex of the hike, alpine lakes are available for any hot hiker who is brave enough to jump into the chilly water.
