1. Porcupine Mountains, Michigan, USA
With a name like that, some might think that the Porcupine is a thorny trail. The Porcupine Mountains are actually named so because of their shape! They belong to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and are great for hiking. In fact, the Porcupine Mountains offer some of the best hiking trails in Midwest United States. Spread over a vast area of 6,000 acres, the park is one of the biggest national parks in US. The trails are scattered throughout the park and cover a wide variety of sceneries and experiences. There are trails which are as short ½ mile and there are also trails which take multiple days. Campsites are available for all the multi-day trails. The park is also equipped with mountain cabins which hikers can use for staying overnight.
